Ospreys have signed Wales full-back Lee Byrne from Welsh rivals Llanelli Scarlets on a three-year contract. Lee, 25, made himself a fixture in Wales' Six Nations squad this year with a string of impressive performances, the 6ft 2in full-back has won eight caps. It is something of a homecoming as Byrne hails from Bridgend, although he has played his senior rugby at Stradey Park.
Ospreys coach Lyn Jones:
"Lee has developed over the course of the least season into a fully fledged international calibre player and we are delighted that Lee has chosen to get on board with the Ospreys. He played a prominent role in the six nations with Wales and is a full back of some considerable stature who will I am sure fit in well at the region. I am delighted that we have signed another top quality international who originally hails from within the Ospreys region"
Lee Byrne:

Gareth Williams signed for Cardiff Blues in the summer of 2003 having previously played for UWIC and Pontypridd and also the Sydney club, Gordon. He has extensive representative experience for all age groups from the under-16s up to the under-21s. While attending Brynteg School in Bridgend he captained Wales under-18 team that included current Blues’ team mate Rhys Williams and Gary Powell and former Cardiff club players Adam Jones and Phil Wheeler. In the following year of 1998 he captained Wales Youth and quickly progressed to a full season with Wales under-21 in 1999. His progression to full internationals honours continued with two appearances for Wales A in 2001-02 and then his full cap in the 2003 Six Nations’ fixture in Italy.
Gareth Williams:

The 23-year-old seamer bowler joined Leicestershire on a summer contract in 2006 after completing his studies at the University of Glamorgan where he gained a BSc in Sports Science and caught the eye playing for Cardiff UCCE. Made his first-class debut against the West Indies A touring team shortly after arriving at Grace Road and also featured in the final NatWest Pro40 match of the season where he helped Leicestershire to record a win over the Derbyshire Phantoms. Spent the winter months training and working in the offices at Grace Road to prepare himself for his first full season on the staff.
